Guide: Managing Fonts in Windows 10

🛠 Step 1: Install New Fonts

Method 1: Direct Installation

  1. Download the font file (e.g., from Google Fonts).
  2. Right-click the font file (.ttf or .otf).
  3. Select “Install”.
  4. The font will be available in all apps (Word, Photoshop, etc.).

Method 2: Manual Installation (Bulk Fonts)

  1. Press Win + E to open File Explorer.
  2. Navigate to:
    • C:\Windows\Fonts
  • Drag & drop font files into this folder.
  • Windows will install them automatically.

Step 2: Delete Unwanted Fonts

  1. Open Control Panel (Win + R > type control > Enter).
  2. Go to Appearance and Personalization > Fonts.
  3. Locate the font, right-click > Delete.
  4. Confirm deletion.

🔧 Step 3: Preview & Manage Fonts

  1. Open Font Settings:
    • Press Win + I > Personalization > Fonts.
  2. Search & preview fonts before installing.
  3. Use “Font settings” to adjust ClearType for better readability.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

❌ Font not appearing?

  • Restart the application (Word, Photoshop, etc.).

❌ Corrupted fonts?

  • Reinstall the font or restore from backup.
